Walk the World
8-10 Nov 2024
Walk the World is an annual event that’s about getting out in our neighbourhoods to pray!
Over the weekend of 8-10 November, pray for your community, and communities around the world. Pray for your church’s ministry, and the ministry of our Baptist Mission Australia teams.
You can get involved as a church, small group, individual or family. On this page, you’ll find resources and creative prayer ideas for all ages.

Resources
Whether you’re a pastor or leader at your church, a youth leader or children’s ministry leader, we have created resources to help your church learn about God’s global mission!
The Walk the World Prayer Guide includes overall prompts to facilitate prayer for your local neighbourhood, Australia and the world. It is the perfect entry point for involvement with Walk the World and can be utilised by individuals, families, small groups or whole churches.
The Community Prayer Walk is an opportunity for small groups, families or whole congregations to engage with your local area and pray for your community. It is perfect for youth and adults, but can be adapted for children as well.
The Musical Countries activity is a fun way to pray for countries and communities around the world. You can participate as a small group or whole congregation. It is perfect for children and youth but can be enjoyed by adults as well.
The Global Prayer Guide outlines prayer and praise points for each of our Baptist Mission Australia teams and the communities they serve among. Use it to inform your prayers as an individual or group.
Throughout the Walk the World weekend, use the Eat the World recipe guide to make a special dish from around the world. Connect with friends or family over the meal, and then pray for the Baptist Mission Australia team who serves in that country.
Walk the World is for everyone and there are so many ways to get involved! Be inspired by these 24 ideas and get creative. Whatever you do, Walk the World is an opportunity to engage with your local neighbourhood, and to pray for the world and your community

Frequently asked questions
Walk the World is for everyone, of all abilities, ages and group size. Some resources will be targeted towards adults and others to children, families or youth.
Going for a walk is a great way to experience our local communities. It helps us get to know the area and our neighbours. Plus, it’s something that a lot of us already do! Walk the World is an invitation to intentionally pray for the world while you walk in your world.
But, of course, you don’t have to walk to get involved with Walk the World.
You can choose to get around your neighbourhood however you like. You could run, cycle, wheel, skateboard, push, drive, scoot, rollerblade or skip around your area. You could even virtually walk around via Google maps, video or your imagination!
If 8-10 November doesn’t work for you or your church’s calendar, that is ok! You can hold Walk the World whenever it works with you. The resources will remain available online and ready for you when you want them.
However, if you can Walk the World over 8-10 November, we encourage to get involved then. Knowing others around the country and world are praying for the world, and engaging with their community at the same time will spur us all on!

What people said
We really enjoyed this opportunity to do Walk the World. We prayed for God’s love to be made known locally and around our world. We’d be keen to do this again in 2024.
A small group from Ballarat North Baptist walked around Lake Wendouree. There was plenty of praise and thanksgiving to God also. Thank you for a great initiative.
