9/2/23: We thank you again for your partnership in this project. While the full budget wasn’t met, the course was successful as you can read about below. Current ‘next step’ opportunities are being explored for more training that will have more prayer and financial partnership opportunities. Any further funds raised for this project will be directed towards the new training opportunities that R is exploring in 2023.
21/10/22: R shares, “40 people from the Rabha, Adivasi, Garo, Boro and Mizo people groups attended the Transformational Intercultural Training event last week.
The Rabha leaders expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the unique training program, as they saw it as a life and ministry-changing experience for the participants. We gained brothers and sisters in the process as were blessed with deeper insights into the Word and ministry among those who have never heard, especially the M cousins.
It was very special to witness the baptism of a new believer from the neighbouring cousin community which was conducted discreetly at dusk.”
Will you pray that God will continue His work among the Rabha, Adivasi, Garo, Baro and Mizo people and bear good fruit for His kingdom? And please consider making a gift, as there are still some funds required to cover the final expenses for this project. Thank you!
The Rabha Baptist Convention (RBC) have seen an increase of new families from another faith move into the region. Through their work as traders, farmers and labourers, they come in direct contact with the Rabha believers daily and even welcome the open conversations about life and faith.
These new neighbours have been asking and talking about similarities between the two faiths; a few have even decided to follow Jesus!
The RBC and local believers want to make the most of this opportunity to share their faith in Jesus and have asked for us to partner with them in their training. To help equip and mobilise this emerging intercultural workforce from among our traditional ministry partners, we will provide training in areas to do with culture and mission, practical evangelism and topics specific to their neighbours. Only 4% of Rabhas profess to follow Jesus.
With intercultural team member R’s research into a mission mobilisation program in the broader Asian context and our long-term partnership with the Rabha, we are excited to come alongside our friends and help them feel confident in sharing their faith contextually.
