Pat and Joy

Serving in South East Asia

Pat and Joy joined the South East Asia team in early 2019. They are empty nesters who have experienced many intercultural activities through their work and daily living.

Pat and Joy’s experiences gave them both a love for people of other cultural and faith backgrounds. And several Global Exposure trips fuelled a passion for serving interculturally. What they once thought were ordinary experiences and interests have prepared them for their roles in supporting the team and staff at the Education Foundation.

They love coming alongside people in whatever they are doing. They are encouraged by relationships that have grown in trust, and opportunities to walk alongside their local friends. This has strengthened their heart for discipleship of their local friends who are already believers, as well as those who are still on their journey towards knowing Jesus.

Joy and Pat continue to seek growth in their understanding of culture and language. They are passionate about sharing the Gospel in a way that makes sense to their local friends. They will continue to reach out to local people to share their faith and to disciple believers.

Joy is the co-team leader, and together they support the team in various ways. They look forward to continue serving with other team members in the development of new initiatives for holistic ministry.
