Roger joined Baptist Mission Australia in 1977 when he, his wife Barbara and two children left Adelaide for Zambia.
During his time in Zambia, Roger helped establish the Evangelical University, Theological College of Central Africa (TCCA) – the first undergraduate theological training institution in Zambia.
After returning to Australia in 1986, Roger served on the NSW Mission Council, before being appointed as leadership training coordinator in 1995.
Roger’s key focus is theological education; training local teachers to preach basic Bible content to Baptist church communities in Zambia and Zimbabwe, and using Re-Forma – a World Evangelical Alliance project, to equip students for church leadership.
Through Project Timothy, Roger also coordinates and prepares Australian teachers and volunteers to work with local pastors in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and India in leading and developing their churches.
Roger is currently chairperson of a subcommittee working with the Missiological Roundtable and coordinates the Baptist Mission Australia scholarship program.
Roger is passionate about seeing vibrant communities follow Jesus in their own distinctive ways and is excited for the expansion of the grass-roots programs that will enable pastors to grow in their faith, disciple others and fend off false-teaching.
