Project code:

Project goal:
(not tax deductible)

3/7/23 – Thank you for all your wonderful contributions. This project is now fully supported! Any additional donations will contribute to the 2024 target.

7/7/22 – Thank you for your partnership with this Scholarship Fund! Here is the story of one of the scholarship recipients from Rev Dr Roger Kemp, the scholarship coordinator: “On 4 June, Ben graduated with a MA in Christian Leadership from Africa Bible College, Malawi. His studies took 3 years and was made possible by the generous donations of Australian Baptists through the Baptist Mission Australia scholarship fund. His course cost almost $7,000.

Ben is now a pastor and part-time lecturer at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Malawi situated in Lilongwe. BTSM is where Baptist Mission Australia intercultural team members, Gary and Shirley are based.

The scholarship fund is currently providing scholarships for five other students at BTSM – all doing a Bachelor of Theology degree. It costs $1,100 per year to maintain those students at BTSM.”

Through this project, we are seeing leaders better equipped to strengthen Baptist churches and Bible colleges among our ongoing relationships.

This is an incredible opportunity to invest in the global church, enabling leaders to be trained to teach and build faith communities among their own people groups. The project provides scholarship funds to assist leaders to receive further education in countries such as Bangladesh, India, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

There are currently 11 study scholarships we are looking to cover $35,000 in 2022-2024:

8 scholarships in ASSAM
1 scholarship in MALAWI
2 scholarships in ZAMBIA

Through their day-to-day life, Jean-Claude and Joyce are engaging with people wholistically, responding to their spiritual and physical needs.

It is Jan and Jit’s desire to see each person develop as an individual,
learn new skills and move towards their potential for interdependent
and independent living.

Through this work they seek to partner with churches to see the
Christian community develop a sense of responsibility towards those
in need in their communities.

This project covers the costs of running disability group activities
in rural areas, the purchase of specialised equipment to improve
quality of life and provide the needs of the team travelling and
empowering people with disabilities in this Thai/Myanmar border
area.

By supporting this project you will enable leaders in Indian, Zambian and Malawian communities to access further studies. This will strengthen the Biblical teaching in the communities and enrich many Baptist churches as we seek to equip and empower faith communities.
