To truly share God’s love, we believe that word and deed need to go hand in hand.
One is incomplete without the other – as we share about Jesus in word, we must also demonstrate His restoration in our love and care for others.
God’s renewing work deals with the whole of the person, and so our witness to Jesus must also be holistic.
We care for our people
We demonstrate a high level of care for our intercultural team members, offering specialised and professional support alongside pastoral and preventative care.
We ensure appropriate financial allowances for each context, adequate health insurance and superannuation.
Intercultural service comes with unique challenges and it is our responsibility to support team members through the ups and downs.
We’re contextual
Baptist Mission Australia’s ministry is highly contextual.
We are passionate about seeing people empowered to follow Jesus in their own distinctive ways.
To do this, our teams develop deep cultural understanding, speak in the heart language of their local friends and share Jesus’ message without unnecessary cultural barriers.
We’re long-term
We also have a long-term focus, praying for a lasting legacy.
We go to places with a plan to spark Gospel curiosity and pursue holistic community transformation. This means spending years learning the local language and culture, and journeying alongside people towards Jesus over time.
Of course, there are still rich opportunities for short-term service, but we invest in the long-term ministry.
