Calvin and Lydia

Serving in the Silk Road Area

Calvin and Lydia began living and serving in the Silk Road Area in 2023. Calvin is an Engineer and Lydia is a Physiotherapist.

They have both experienced God’s love and redemptive grace in every aspect of their lives and enjoy sharing His love with others. Since they first met in 2015, the Lord has been cultivating a heart for missions within them, through hearing from their parents and mentors, going on short-term mission trips and partnering with intercultural team members sent from their church.

In 2016, Calvin spent a month in the Silk Road Area. He loved the friendliness of the people, but also saw a great need for the Gospel there. After that trip he was eager to return there, and has continued friendships with some of the local people who he had met on that trip. Lydia was one of Calvin’s financial supporters, and has since also developed a heart to serve there.

Calvin and Lydia are immersing themselves in the new culture, trying new foods and making friends in the Silk Road Area. They are also looking forward to sharing their hope in Jesus with others! They are both passionate about connecting with people through playing sports and having a good meal together. In particular, Calvin enjoys playing volleyball and Lydia enjoys running.

Calvin and Lydia’s desire is to live and serve among the K people long-term. However, they cannot do this alone. Please consider financially and prayerfully partnering with them and the ministry in the Silk Road Area.

Through their day-to-day life, Jean-Claude and Joyce are engaging with people wholistically, responding to their spiritual and physical needs.

Jean-Claude and Joyce share a passionate love for God and people and desire to see the Yawo follow Jesus within their cultural context. They are building relationships with their Yawo neighbours and investing in their culture and language learning with a local language nurturer so they can effectively communicate with their Yawo friends.

They are grateful for the prayers and financial support they receive as they actively seek to build meaningful relationships amongst the Yawo and see communities transformed as they follow Jesus in ways that make sense to them.
