Mel first visited the Silk Road Area in 2018. She loved the people, the culture and the mountains and felt a peace with the idea of serving amongst the K people. Mel arrived in the Silk Road Area in February 2022.
Mel loves people, culture and the outdoors. She loves spending time with people and chatting, either sitting drinking endless cups of coffee (or now tea) or hiking up a mountain. Mel is excitedly learning the local language and building relationships with local K people. She is eager to develop her language and cultural skills so she can build meaningful relationships with local K people and have the opportunity to share the hope she has in Jesus in ways that makes sense to them.
In the long-term, Mel hopes to join other teammates teaching English in the community. Mel has already been encouraged by the way God is at work amongst the K people and is humbled by the opportunity to witness God’s grace and goodness at work and participate with Him in seeing lives transformed.
