Glenn and Liz – House Of Light Purchase

Ministry in Thailand

Project code:

Project goal:
(not tax deductible)

31/7/23 – Liz writes, “We are blown away! Praise God with us that the Baan Sawang Purchase Project is now fully funded!!! Thank you to those who donated during May Mission Month. Thanks to you we have the funds to go ahead with the purchase. Please be praying that it’ll be a smooth process going forward.”

In Northern Thailand, Glenn and Liz run an English teaching classroom for students with low English language proficiency.

Students are required, by the government, to learn English in school but many families do not know English so it’s difficult for some children to access the expected English exposure to practice and learn.

This classroom runs highly subsidised English language classes in the local community so that families can afford to send their children and in time students will have expanded opportunities in education and employment.

The classroom building is currently rented by Glenn and Liz but the owner is ready to sell.

This project will enable the team to purchase the building, providing long-term stability to the classes and families involved and allows the team to do renovations and minimise future maintenance.

The owner has welcomed this idea and agreed to hold the sale while the money is raised to buy this property and adjacent land for improved building access.

Purchasing this property will allow for the long-term security of the ministry but also means continued use for short-term teams and volunteers as well as providing a ministry centre for future faith communities.

Through their day-to-day life, Jean-Claude and Joyce are engaging with people wholistically, responding to their spiritual and physical needs.

It is Jan and Jit’s desire to see each person develop as an individual,
learn new skills and move towards their potential for interdependent
and independent living.

Through this work they seek to partner with churches to see the
Christian community develop a sense of responsibility towards those
in need in their communities.

This project covers the costs of running disability group activities
in rural areas, the purchase of specialised equipment to improve
quality of life and provide the needs of the team travelling and
empowering people with disabilities in this Thai/Myanmar border
area.

We invite you to be a part of this exciting development in Glenn and Liz’s work with the Ethnic Thai people in Northern Thailand.
