11/9/23 – Thank you for your continued partnership, renovations have taken place and the cafe now needs equipment in order to open. The hope is to open the café this month to customers but it means we need your support now!

In a bustling, energetic city in South East Asia, Daz and Bee are establishing a café with a purpose.

Witnessing high levels of poverty in this country they have been inspired by the story Jesus told that the Kingdom is like a mustard seed, when planted it grows and its branches provide shade for the birds. The café is starting small with a dream to become an entity that brings blessing, rest and hope to the community they live among.

When the café is up and running, the focus will grow to be a social enterprise to provide opportunities for local villagers to acquire skills and training in the hospitality industry. The business will be centred on a traineeship program, initially barista training opportunities to excel in a growing speciality coffee scene. This café exists to be a blessing in the community, to be a space where people can experience love and peace and see hope for their lives.

Through practical, upskilling opportunities, Daz and Bee want to see the people of South East Asia experience hope and escape the cycle of poverty and despair through gaining practical qualifications for long-term employment.

As the business starts, there are significant capital investments required. Would you come alongside Daz and Bee through prayer and financial partnership in this?

In 2023, the budget covers:

A two year lease
Contractor expenses for renovations to fit out the building to be a café
Interior designer to design the café
Capital to purchase equipment – pre-loved where available and new where required
Staff salaries
First year operating costs
Establishing a traineeship
In 2024 and beyond, the project fundraising will significantly decrease as the business gets established and increases revenue.

Isaiah 43:19 “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Through their day-to-day life, Jean-Claude and Joyce are engaging with people wholistically, responding to their spiritual and physical needs.

It is Jan and Jit’s desire to see each person develop as an individual,
learn new skills and move towards their potential for interdependent
and independent living.

Through this work they seek to partner with churches to see the
Christian community develop a sense of responsibility towards those
in need in their communities.

This project covers the costs of running disability group activities
in rural areas, the purchase of specialised equipment to improve
quality of life and provide the needs of the team travelling and
empowering people with disabilities in this Thai/Myanmar border
area.

Partnering with this new café in South East Asia means coming alongside Daz, Bee and their local community to see a business established to not only be a peaceful haven for customers but more significantly offer hope and practical tools for community members to break the cycle of poverty in their families for now and future generations. Will you be a part of this?
